His first book, Caught in the Middle: A Leadership Guide for Partnership in the Workplace (Productivity Press, Portland. 1992) is a guidebook for managers on ways to increase commitment to quality and service. Quality Digest said that Rick's book, "...provides an excellent departure point for those managers stranded somewhere between old responsibilities and their new roles." His second book, Feedback Toolkit, (Productivity Press) is already in its fourth printing. Both titles have been bestsellers for the publisher.
